Fuelling success in the hospitality sector

With more than 30 million visitors each year, tourism in the UK contributes £121 billion to the economy and makes up 7% of the national GDP. With a 3% increase year-on-year in the number of visitors, a recent report proclaimed 2017 ‘the year of the staycation’.

Whether you run a holiday park, pub, restaurant, hotel or cater for many of the increasingly popular food and music festivals, a reliable, clean fuel will be an essential ingredient in a successful 2017 holiday season. For establishments located off the gas grid however, fuel becomes a much more challenging issue.

Energy is a vital consideration for off-grid business owners, critical for delivering hot showers, perfectly cooked food and bubbling Jacuzzis, ensuring that holidaymakers are offered the perfect experience.

LPG, or liquefied petroleum gas, is well-established as the fuel of choice for off-gas grid establishments and it's easy to see why:

1) Familiar:

LPG acts exactly like natural gas - a controllable and easy-to-use fuel - ensuring chefs can create their masterpieces effortlessly, essential when the quality of food produced is crucial to the reputation of an establishment.

2) Versatility:

LPG's flexibility means it can be used for all sorts of applications, from heating bedrooms and cooking meals to fuelling barbecues in pub beer gardens and cooking street food in the middle of a festival field. Sold in cylinders as well as in bulk, LPG's portability means it can be used anywhere that gas is needed. And the great news is, cylinders are easily available from stockists, DIY stores and garage forecourts, right across the country.

3) Convenience:

With customer satisfaction on the line, business owners don't want guests having to wait for warm showers or brave cold rooms. LPG delivers instant and consistent energy which is both energy and cost-efficient. And there is no need to worry about ugly tanks or running out of LPG. Tanks can be installed underground to provide a discreet solution in holiday areas, plus some tanks can be fitted with telemetry systems meaning your supplier will top up your LPG as and when you need it.

4) Environmentally friendly:

With many off-gas grid locations exploring sustainable energy options, LPG offers a reliable, round-the-clock, low carbon fuel source even in the most remote parts of the country. LPG emits 35% less CO2 than coal, 12% less than oil and almost no black carbon. With low particle emissions, low NOx (nitrogen oxide) emissions and low sulphur content, its green credentials help rural hotels, pubs and restaurants to reduce their carbon footprint as well as their running costs.

Keeping guests happy is the number one priority for any holiday establishment and LPG gives owners and operators the peace of mind they need, leaving them to focus on delivering a fabulous customer experience.
