47,000 vehicles on UKLPG Vehicle Register

Figures announced show increase in vehicles on UKLPG vehicle register.

UKLPG has published figures that show that in 2011, 47,000 vehicles have been placed on the Vehicle Register.

The Vehicle Register is a database of UK vehicles that have been converted to run on Autogas or inspected following a conversion by a UKLPG Approved Autogas Installer. It provides free access for insurance companies, brokers, taxi licensing officers and consumers to confirm that a vehicle has been converted or checked and meets industry safety standards.

UKLPG Approved Autogas Installers undertook 3,400 conversion and a further 1,500 inspections during 2011.

Mike Chapman, Autogas Manager at UKLPG said "Most people convert to autogas to save money and as the cost of fuel continues to rise the differential between LPG and petrol or diesel widens, making driving less expensive."
