Local MP's Show Support for Autogas
Cheaper motoring is now more accessible in Stratford-upon-Avon, and for commuters on the busy M42 thanks to increased availability of LPG autogas.
The cleaner burning automotive fuel can dramatically reduce fuel costs by up to 40 per cent and to highlight its availability Autogas Ltd, the UK's leading supplier of LPG autogas, heldawareness daysat the recently opended Shell Bridgetown and Hopwood Services. Experts from Autogas Ltd and a local UKLPG approved conversion specialistgave motorists advice on LPG vehicles and how to switch and save. Autogas Ltd, has pledged to open more LPG refuelling sites across the UK and identifiedboth sitesas keyto furtherincreasing nationwide availability.
Mr Nadhim Zahawi MP officially marked the availability of LPG in his region by attending the awareness dayin Stratford Upon Avon, announcing on twitter "With Autogas to celebrate the installation of an LPG pump at Shell Briddetown."
Sajid Javid MP for Bromsgrove who officially marked the opening for the M42 services commented: "I was delighted to open the first LPG refuelling station at Hopwood Park Services on the M42. Not only is LPG better for the environment than petrol or diesel, but it is also less expensive per litre, which is good news given that many people are feeling the pinch from rising fuel prices."
Autogas Ltd General Manager, and UKLPG Board member, Jem Aldridge, who features in the picture with Sajid Javid MP added: "At a time of ever increasing petrol and diesel prices, LPG cannot be ignored as an alternative. It currently retails at an average price of 74.5 pence per litre, compared to 133.4 ppl for petrol and 141.3 ppl for diesel*."
Liquefied Petroleum Gas, or LPG, has an established and easily accessible refuelling network and is available from 1,400 public refuelling points up and down the country; with the majority of Autogas Ltd LPG refuelling sites being located on Shell forecourts on motorways, major trunk roads and in major conurbations, allowing drivers to benefit from all the normal forecourt facilities including fuel card payments."
In addition to the huge savings on running costs, LPG autogas is better for the environement saving 12% more carbon than its petrol equivalent without compromising driveability. As Paul Oxford, Development Manager for Autogas Ltd points out, "what drivers really like is the fact that it's the same as driving a petrol car with no compromise on vehicle range and performance. With over a third of Shell owned UK forecourts now retailing autogas drivers don't have to go out of their way to refuel. In fact to make life easier we provide a free to download sat-nav site locator on our website'
