UKLPG Offers Invitation to Tender for Cylinder Retrieval Scheme

UKLPG has today issued an invitation to tender for the UKLPG Cylinder Retrieval Scheme Clearing House Services Contract, with the intention of setting up a facility which Civic Amenity Sites and others working in the waste industry can contact and advise of LPG cylinders that need retrieving and repatriating to their rightful owners.

The tender has been offered in two phases, each with their own deadline. Phase 1 closes on at 17.00 on 15th March 2011 and is a ‘grace period' for prospective contractors to satisfy themselves regarding the Scope of Work and to resolve any queries arising (as per Article 5 ‘General Conditions' below) and to register an interest. Phase 2 closes at 12.00 Noon on 29th March 2011 by which time price tenders must be lodged at UKLPG's Kenilworth offices (as per Article 4 ‘Proposal Requirements').

Rob Shuttleworth, Chief Executive of UKLPG says:

"Once the new arrangement is in place it is expected to ensure a "one stop shop" for all amenity sites, removing the current complexities, and making it much easier to ensure that cylinders are returned to their rightful owners in a cost effective and efficient manner."

LPG cylinders remain the property of the gas company and are refilled by exchange. If you have a cylinder which is no longer needed it should be returned to a local dealer of the company owning the cylinder, or to arrange for the cylinder to be collected please identify the brand on the cylinder and click on the PDF icon to the left. This document contains all known brands of cylinders and their contact details.
