LPG underground pipework safety check

Ventilated Space

This means an underfloor space where air can circulate because there is an airbrick or another type of vent which enables this to happen. Ventilation is designed to reduce damp but it can also help to prevent LPG collecting below the floor in the event of an escape from the underground pipework.

Some properties may have weep holes which do not provide ventilation to underfloor spaces. These only provide ventilation to wall cavities. The 'No Ventilation' image below shows a weep hole.

Is there a ventilated space under the wooden ground floor of the property? If you are unsure, can you see any of the following examples of vents around the outside of your property?

To answer please click on the button below the image that is most similar to your ventilation.
