Revised Codes of Practice Launched

UKLPG is pleased to announce that a number of its Codes of Practice have now been revised to align them with some key changed to the International Carriage of Dangerous Goods by Road (ADR) and the Carriage of Dangerous Goods and Use of Transportable Pressure Equipment Regulations 2009. The publications include:

  •   Code of Practice 2: Safe Handling and Transport of LPG in Road Tankers and Tank Containers by Road, which has been revised to reflect the Carriage of Dangerous Goods and Use of Transportable Pressure Equipment Regulations 2009, ADR 2009 as well as a general updating, particularly as regards “Instructions in Writing”.
  • Code of Practice 27: The Carriage of LPG Cylinders by Road, which has been similarly updated and also includes details of tunnel transits which will become relevant on 1st January 2010.

  • Code of Practice 29: Hazard Information and Packaging Labelling for Commercial LPG Cylinders, which has been rewritten to reflect the Carriage of Dangerous Goods and Use of Transportable Pressure Equipment Regulations 2009, the EU REACH Regulation, the EU CLP Regulation and the UN “Globally Harmonised System” all of which are now part of UK law.

The three revised publications are part of a larger suite of Code of Practices that are published by UKLPG, the trade association for the LPG industry. Each of these codes are available to purchase via the UKLPG online store.
